Policy description "The Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) program was created in 2010 to support Canada’s forest sector in becoming more economically competitive and environmentally sustainable. The initial four-year $100-million initiative supported forest industry transformation by accelerating the deployment of highly innovative, first-in-kind technologies at Canadian forest industry facilities. These projects included bioenergy, biomaterials, biochemicals and next-generation building products."
