Chile adopted the Plan de Acción Nacional de Cambio Climático 2017-2022 (PANCC-II) in 2017, coordinated by the Interministerial Technical Team on Climate Change, Equipo Técnico Interministerial de Cambio Climático
This strategic policy document includes a target to reduce the intensity of CO2 emissions by at least 30% by 2030, the promotion of non-conventional renewable energies by promoting an energy efficiency law and reforesting 100,000 hectares of mainly native forest. It also defines 4 other pillars of climate action in addition to mitigation. These pillars are: Adaptation, Capacity Building, Development and Transfer of Technologies, and Financing.
