South Sudan is the world’s newest country and still lacks infrastructure to a thorough analysis regarding its emissions. However, the NDC states that emissions are mainly from the land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF) and agriculture sectors, furthermore, the energy and transport sectors are also significant.
The NDC focus on Electricity, Transport, LULUCF and agriculture by aiming an increase in the use of clean energy, increase energy efficiency and the efficiency of biomass usage, as well as protecting forest areas and investing on reforestation and afforestation practices.
