Nova Indústria Brasil is an industrial policy initiative launched by the Brazilian government in January 2024, aimed at reindustrializing the country by addressing historical challenges and enhancing productivity through innovation and sustainability. The policy focuses on six key missions, including food security, healthcare resilience, and energy transition, with a substantial financial commitment of over BRL 300 billion until 2026 to stimulate technological development and improve Brazil's competitiveness in the global market
Targets for Mission 5 by 2026 and 2033:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions intensity per product in line with the Climate Plan.
- Increase the share of biofuels and electric vehicles in transportation to 27% by 2026 and 50% by 2033.
- Achieve a 10% reduction in carbon emissions from national industry by 2026 and 30% by 2033, while enhancing biodiversity usage.
