In June 2025, Peru submitted the "Estrategia Nacional ante el Cambio Climático al 2050" (ENCC 2050) to the UNFCCC as its official long-term low greenhouse gas emission development strategy (LT-LEDS) under the Paris Agreement, outlining its pathway toward net-zero and climate resilience by 2050. It was formally adopted by Supreme Decree No. 012-2024-MINAM in November 2024 as a binding national climate policy that sets long-term adaptation and mitigation goals.
