The Great British Energy Act 2025 supports the set up of Great British Energy, a publicly-owned and operationally independent company that focuses on clean energy deployment. The Act gives the Secretary of State the ability to provide financial assistance to Great British Energy. Great British Energy and Great British Energy - Nuclear will invest more than GBP 8.3 billion over the Parliament in clean electricity. The Act received Royal Assent in May 2025 and passed through the House of Commons and the House of Loards in October 2024 and February 2025 respectively.
