The NREAP was officially adopted by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia in 2019. It sets a target for renewable energy sources to supply 35% of total energy demand by 2030. Specific actions for the period up to 2020 are identified for promoting increased electricity generation capacity from solar and wind technologies, supporting grid in integration of new and existing renewable energy generation capacities, and supporting the increased penetration of renewable fuels in the transport sector.
