The PPCDAm aims to reduce deforestation. In its first two phases it had clear deforestation reduction targets. The third phase of PPCDAm (2012–15) were organized into three major pillars: 1. Territorial regularization 2. Monitoring and control 3. Incentives for sustainable production. The fourth phase maintains these pillars and adds efforts to norms and policy instruments (fiscal and financial incentives) to support deforestation-reduction efforts.
