The Swedish government suggests loan guarantees for green projects in the budget plan for 2021. The plan intends to make it possible for larger industrial investment projects to be carried out in Sweden that help the country meet the objectives of the environmental goal system and the framework for climate policy.

The credit guarantees are expected to be given for several years beginning in the first half of 2021 and will be evaluated using technology-neutral criteria. The proposed credit guarantees would not exceed SEK 10 billion in 2021. The guarantee structure is projected to cost SEK 15 billion in 2022 and SEK 25 billion in 2023.
