Turkey’s Climate Law No. 7552, enacted on 9 July 2025, is the country’s first comprehensive climate legislation, establishing a legal framework for achieving net-zero emissions by 2053 and supporting a green growth strategy. The law introduces mandatory greenhouse gas emission permits for businesses in key sectors and launches a national Emissions Trading System (ETS).
