Importers of light commercial vehicles have to limit the average of the imported fleet to 147 g CO2/km from 2020. For every gram over the 147g, they pay a penalty. The policy is in line with the EU emission standards. Due to the lack of vehicle producers in Switzerland the importers are the obligated party.
