The Finland Carbon Tax, introduced in 1990, is currently priced at €93.02 (US$99.99) as of April 1, 2024. It targets CO2 emissions from all fossil fuels, excluding peat, and enhances incentives under the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS). In January 2024, the tax on transportation fuels was reduced from €77 to €62 per ton of CO2. The tax operates on a fixed price model and includes measures to mitigate double taxation for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants.
