The measure calls for seven different types of tenders to be held between 2021 and 2026 for a total of 34 GW of new renewable energy capacity:

(i) solar power generated on-site (2 rounds each year, 925 MW each);

Building solar (3 rounds per year, 300MW each),

(iii) onshore wind, which produces two 925MW rounds every year.

(iv) hydropower installations (1 cycle at 35 MW year),

(v) innovative solar (140 MW in a single round annually);

(vi) Self-consumption (3 rounds of 50 MW each annually) and

(vii) a single round of a 500 MW per year technology-neutral tender.
The assistance is provided in the form of a premium above the market price for power. The proposed overall budget for the proposal is in the neighborhood of €30.5 billion. The program is open until 2026, and after the new renewable installation is connected to the grid, subsidies can be paid out for up to 20 years.
The policy is intended to assist France in meeting its renewable energy goals while minimizing competitive distortion, and it is anticipated to support the European goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
