The RUPTL 2019–2028 continued the 10-year planning cycle, with updated projections for electricity demand, energy mix, and infrastructure development.
For the 2019–2028 period, the RUPTL planned to add 56.6 GW of new power generation capacity. The energy mix remained similar to the previous plan, with coal accounting for 54%, renewables for 23%, and gas for 22%.
