As part of the Australian Federal Budget 2021-22, the Australian government is providing additional funding to the $464 million Clean Hydrogen Industrial Hubs program to develop up to seven regional hubs.
As part of the Australian Federal Budget 2021-22, the Australian government aims to provide:
- additional funding to the $464 million Clean Hydrogen Industrial Hubs program to develop up to
seven regional hubs
funding to support the development of carbon capture, use and storage projects and hubs
- support for farmers to reduce emissions through a national soil carbon innovation challenge and
trials of technologies for delivering low-emissions feed supplements to grazing animals
- implementation of the Safeguard Crediting Mechanism recommended by the King Review
- support for voluntary climate action through an expanded Climate Active framework investing to help Australian businesses and supply chains reduce energy use, cut emissions and improve competitiveness through more energy efficient industrial equipment and business practices.
