The Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act makes changes to the 1980 Act. The Amendment supports the goal to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2070 and maintain or enhance the forest carbon stock, as well as the NDC target of creating an additional carbon sink of 2.5 to 3.0 billion tons of CO2-equivalents by 2030.
