Egypt’s Integrated Sustainable Energy Strategy (ISES) 2035, adopted in 2016 by the Supreme Energy Council, remains the country’s primary long-term energy roadmap.
The strategy assessed eight scenarios and adopted one targeting 20% renewable electricity by 2022 and 42% by 2035. In its updated 2030 NDC, Egypt brought forward the 42% renewable electricity target to 2030. No updated version has been officially published.
