National framework guiding South Africa’s transition towards a low-carbon economy in line with its climate targets. The plan outlines priority investments and measures across six portfolios: Electricity, Mpumalanga Just Transition, Municipalities, New energy vehicles, Green Hydrogen, and Skills. Three more portfolios, Renewable Energy Masterplan, Energy Efficiency, and Road-to-Rail, were introduced in 2024 for further JET financing support. A significant amount of the funds are intended to be allocated to the electricity sector, making up 48% of total identified funding requirements. In total, the plan identifies funding requirements of USD 98bn.
