In this plan, South Africa, France, Germany, UK, USA and the EU are jointly providing $8.5 billion in funding to support South Africa’s pathway to low-emissions and climate resilient development. The Just Transition Framework is a planning tool for achieving a just transition in South Africa, setting out the actions that the government and its donor partners will take to protect workers and communities and support green industrialization. Through this plan, the power sector will receive most of the $8.5 billion investment package from donor countries, and $6.9 billion will go to electricity infrastructure.
