The National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC) is France's roadmap for reducing GHG emissions by 2050. It provides guidelines for implementing, in all sectors of activity, the transition to a low-carbon, establishing as main tool the carbon budget. It has two main goals: to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and to reduce the carbon footprint of French consumption.
The first version of the strategy was issued in 2015 but was revised with the main goal of achieving net-zero by 2050 and the new version was adopted by decree in 2020.
