The Programme for Agricultural Investment and Food Security (PNIASA) was initially launched in 2010. The programme includes an investment plan and a strategy to combat food insecurity, ensure sustainability in the sector and raising farmers' wages. PNIASAN, a sub-programme focusing on food security and nutrition, was launched in 2013. The programme was revised in 2017 to cover the period 2017-2026. Its funds are worth 750 billion CFA francs. Actions promoted include the fight against deforestation and desertification, and adaptation to climate change.
