The National Zero Methane Program is another action by the Brazilian government that encourages the development of a sustainable economy and aims to reduce methane emissions into the environment.
Brazil will stimulate and help sectors of the economy - such as agriculture and livestock - in the production and use of biomethane and biogas. Financial support will come from public banks, through specific financing and a line of credit.
These incentives will enable the insertion and construction of new centers for the production of biomethane, increasing the product's supply. There will also be the installation of green corridors for the supply of heavy vehicles.
The program will also develop scientific-technological research on biogas and biomethane and will encourage national and international cooperation for actions to reduce methane emissions.
