A wide range of policies, programs, projects, plans, and initiatives are outlined in this submission. Collectively, they aim to reduce, avoid, and remove greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 335 million tons of CO2eq annually reached by 2040, expressed through GHG and non-GHG metrics, on the basis of a dynamic baseline, with the year 2019 designated as the base year for this NDC. This submission represents a progression of 20.5% from the updated first NDC, noting that NDC1 itself reflected approximately an increase of 114% in ambition compared to the INDC.
