Grenada proposes an economy-wide target establishing 40% net reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 2010, conditional to international investments. Geothermal is currently the main contributor to Grenada’s mitigation efforts, however it is still in its exploratory phase and further international investment will be needed to ensure further development. Also, to meet the 2030 target, Grenada will require a rapid transition, involving energy conservation mechanisms and renewable energy deployment (Grenada NDC, 2020).
