This plan seeks to strengthen and accelerate federal permitting and environmental reviews for infrastructure investments. The Plan outlines the Administration’s strategy to ensure these processes are guided by the best science and shaped by early and meaningful public engagement. The plan has five key elements to ensure infrastructure improvements: accelerating smart permitting through early cross-agency coordination; establishing clear timeline goals and tracking key project information; communicating with States, Tribal Nations, territories, and local communities; improving agency responsiveness and support; and adequately resourcing agencies and using the environmental review process for best outcomes.
