In early 2025, Morocco's Minister of Transport and Logistics presented a MAD 96 billion investment plan to modernize the country's rail system by 2030. MAD 53 billion is earmarked for the construction of a high-speed rail line between Marrakech and Kenitra, MAD 29 billion to aquire 18 high-speed trains and 150 multi-service trains, and MAD 14 billion to build or renovate railway stations.
