Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, published on June 28, 2024, and in force since July 18, 2024, establishes a framework for setting ecodesign requirements for sustainable products, aiming to significantly improve the circularity, energy performance, and environmental sustainability of products in the EU market. The regulation, part of the European Green Deal, introduces measures such as the digital product passport (DPP) and sets targets to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and achieve economy-wide climate neutrality by 2050, while also aiming to improve energy efficiency to around 36% in terms of final energy consumption by 2030.
