This Act regulates the use of renewable energy. The Act establishes the Renewable Energy Authority, empowered to regulate all matters relating to renewable energy. It also promotes 1) the implementation of commercially sustainable renewable energy electrification services by encouraging economically efficient investment in the use of and infrastructure to provide electrification services, and 2) access by people resident in the remote areas of the country to renewable energy services to the extent that it is reasonably and commercially practicable to provide such services.
