The 2010-2014 Strategic Plan is a first step in reaching Turkish national renewable energy target of 30% of the total electricity generated from renewable source by 2030. It aims to:
1) increase Turkish energy security by diversifying its energy supply; 2) make greater use of domestic resources; 3) protect the environment by relying on clean renewable and low carbon technologies; and 4) foster energy market efficiency by fostering private sector's investment and integration. The strategy also targets energy efficiency improvements and seeks to save 10% of national energy bill by 2015 and 20% by 2023.
