The cost of charging infrastructure has come down significantly over the last few years, and the cost for many innovative new on-street solutions can be as low as £200-£500 per unit. The maximum amount the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) will fund per chargepoint is £7,500, but OLEV anticipates costs to be much cheaper than this in most cases. Demonstrating value for money consideration in the application is crucial, and prices will be challenged to ensure that they are appropriate.
