In 2009, the Swedish government introduced an investment support scheme for solar heating for all applicants, from private individuals to companies. The investment support corresponded to SEK 2.50/kWh/year of the production of the solar panels, calculated in terms of heat exchange. The investment subsidy was limited to a maximum of SEK 7 500 per apartment building, and a maximum of SEK 3 million per project.
